FAQs
Can I book online?
Yes! Click the “Book Now” button to book online. For all new clients, please book a New Client Consultation session. For current clients, please book the Individual or Couples Counselling Session, in-person or virtual.
You can always email me as well.
What is your schedule/availability?
I typically have the following schedule:
Feel free to email me to book an appointment if you are hoping to book a session but can’t find a time that works for you. I am sometimes able to accommodate sessions outside the schedule below.
Mondays and Wednesdays: afternoons and evenings. Wednesdays I am in my in-person office in Cornwall.
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: daytimes. I typically run workshops/groups on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Please note that due to my chronic health issues, this schedule can differ due to medical appointments.
I’m located in ____, can you see me as a client?
I am a registered social worker with the OSWSSW (Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers), and have approval to work virtually with Quebec residents. I will soon be joining the ACSW (Alberta College of Social Workers) as well. This means I can see folks from Ontario (in-person and virtual), Quebec (virtual only) and soon Alberta (virtual only). If you are outside of these provinces, I may be able to share some folks that could be a good fit, just send me a message!
Do you accept sliding scale/reduced fee and do you accept NIHB funding?
Yes, I am an NIHB provider (which allows me to direct bill NIHB, so Indigenous folks with a status number can access counselling at no charge to them).
Yes, I have limited sliding scale/reduced fee spots available. Here is how I am currently functioning:
1 190$/h (full fee)
2 165$/h (reduced fee)
3 140$/h (more reduced fee)
4 100$/h (lowest cost fee)
5 Low or no-cost counselling options in your area
I do not ask for any proof of income, simply that folks consider their experience of wealth and privilege.
Questions to consider to determine what rate might be right for you:
Are you a homeowner/landowner, or do you rent a higher end property?
Have you attended private education institutions, or do you have an advanced degree, or could you have attended university and/or graduate school?
Do you access governmental financial assistance?
Are you employed?
Are you able to make minimum payments on bills or credit cards?
Have you been able to access or afford health insurance?
Do you have expendable income (like buying new versus thrifting or taking trips)?
Do you have a safety net composed of “financially stable” or wealthy family and friends?
Do you frequently worry about meeting basic needs (food, housing, transportation)?
I want to recognize that this system is not perfect, and that it is tough out there. This may still be unreachable for many folks. I am happy to provide a list of low or no-cost counselling options in the area.
